International audienceThis article will attempt to deconstruct the dichotomous perspective on Latin-American and Caribbean feminist collective action, that presents it as divided into two streams: a libertarian autonomous one refusing to be part of the United Nations and development gender policies, and the other institutionalized, organized around NGOs, and mobilizing funding from international donors in order to implement programs directed toward poor women. According to the autonomist stream, this “NGO-ization” is a factor in the depoliticization of feminism and in the diversion of its subversive aims.
